Frequently Asked Questions

Coronavirus is a broad group of viruses that can infect both animals and humans. In humans, they are known to cause respiratory issues, from mild illnesses like the common cold to more severe conditions such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). The latest identified strain, known as the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV), is responsible for the COVID-19 outbreak.

The primary symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, fatigue, and a dry cough. Some individuals may also experience body aches, congestion, a runny nose, sore throat, or diarrhea. These symptoms tend to be mild and develop slowly. Some people may carry the virus without showing signs of illness or discomfort. Most cases (around 80%) recover fully without requiring specialized medical care.

According to guidelines, if you experience a sudden onset of fever along with respiratory symptoms like cough or difficulty breathing, you should consult the nearest healthcare center. The doctor will assess whether a COVID-19 test is necessary based on your travel history to affected regions or any contact with suspected cases.

As per the Government of India’s regulations, the following documents are mandatory for COVID-19 testing: 1. Patient Information Form (provided by Agilus Lab personnel, to be completed by the patient). 2. Doctor’s prescription (may vary based on state government guidelines). 3. Government-issued photo ID (such as Aadhaar, Voter ID, or Passport) to verify the patient’s address and contact details, is required during sample collection.

To reduce the risk of infection, we should follow daily precautions to curb the spread of COVID-19. These include maintaining distance from those who are unwell, refraining from touching your face with unclean hands, regularly washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using an alcohol-based sanitizer, and staying at home whenever possible.
